Obsidian Announces New Tank MMO Armored Warfare

Obsidian Entertainment, developer of South Park: The Stick of Truth and Fallout: New Vegas, has announced a partnership with My.com, the largest Internet company in Russian-speaking countries, on Armored Warfare.

Armored Warfare is a free-to-play "online tactical military video game," according to Obsidian. Project director Richard Taylor said in a statement, "Armored Warfare gives players two deep levels of upgrading and progression through a huge array of both military vehicles and their own personal military base."

Players assume the role of private military contractors and can establish a headquarters that can be customized and expanded over time. They can also upgrade their fleet of vehicles and train their own crews.

The game's website provides more details about player progression: "As you gain more combat experience and fight through more battles and scenarios you'll meet new characters and suppliers who will give you access to newer and even more powerful destructive machines, improved ammunition and other resources."

The game will be entering a closed beta on PC this year. You can sign up for the beta on Armored Warfare's official website.
