Things That Make A Huge Difference In Dark Souls II PC

Dark Souls II releases for PC on April 25. The question on everyone’s mind is what sort of port this will be, especially in light of the original Dark Souls PC version. While we’ll have to wait until release day for our formal assessment, here are some of the key details you’ll want to know if you’re considering picking it up.

The load times are much better than the console version. Gone are the long waits with bonfire porting, invasions, and all those trips back to Majula to repair your death-cheating ring. It makes a huge difference.

Keyboard and mouse controls are available. All keys can be rebound, so players have the option to try playing Dark Souls II with standard PC controls.

Gameplay is a consistent 60 FPS and runs smoothly. The controls and input, especially with menus, seem extremely responsive.

New menus exist to support video options. Here’s a screenshot of what to expect. The highest resolution that players can select in the video options is 1920 x 1080.
