According to Eurogamer many sources have told them details on the newest console from Nintendo. So far rumors are saying that the console is portable for mobile gaming and can then be hooked up to a TV for gaming on the big screen. Also, reports are saying that the NX will be a touch-screen with detachable controllers on the ends.

Another rumor that showed back up is that the NX will use cartridges to play games. currently to allow games to stay competitively priced the cartridges may not hold much data. with that digital downloads for games will most likely dominate especially since the console is portable.
The New console is scheduled to release March 2017 with a reveal rumored to be in September 2016.
Our Opinion
It will be interesting to see the new handheld for Nintendo. They have always dominated this market with innovative ideas such as the GameBoy and Nintendo DS. although there have been a few style changed and updates for the DS there has yet to be a full change to a new portable.
As for the cartridges, I feel this is a strategy to avoid backlash that Microsoft had when they originally announced that the Xbox One would only use digital. Growing up with a GameBoy, I knew the struggle of having a pocket full of games that I switched out regularly. Having an option to have my games saved digitally can be seen as a bonus for a portable device. and with this still being a rumor, we may even see that a cartridge may be used as a portable memory card to switch between devices.
