Resident Evil Star Says New Movie Starts Filming In August

According to series star Milla Jovovich, the sixth Resident Evil film, The Final Chapter, will begin shooting in August of this year. The filming was originally delayed in August 2014, when Jovovich announced she was expecting another child and wanted to exercise caution during her pregnancy.

New Pee-wee Herman Movie Airing On Netflix

The long-gestating third Pee-wee Herman movie, produced by Judd Apatow (who gave an update on the project last March), is headed to Netflix.

Per The Wrap, Netflix is nearing a deal to to distribute the new Pee-wee film, though the outlet's sources have nothing on the film's director or plot specifics - yet.

And while nothing's finalized at this moment, a source told The Wrap that the movie "moved to Netflix a gazillion months ago.”

Pee-wee himself, Paul Reubens, has said that there is a director in place, however, and production could start as soon as February.

Theater Chains Opting Not To Show The Interview

Some U.S. theater chains have decided not to show The Interview when it opens December 25 after Sony Pictures received threats Tuesday of physical terrorism from the hacker group targeting it for making the Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy.

New Japanese Godzilla Movie In The Works

A decade after the release of Godzilla: Final Wars, the last Toho-produced Godzilla movie, the Japanese studio is poised to develop an all-new film featuring the King of the Monsters.

According to Variety, the movie will begin production in summer 2015 and hit theaters in 2016. A director and cast have yet to be announced.

Additionally, Toho launched the Godzilla Strategic Conference (Godzi-Con), "a committee of studio executives and directors whose aim is to reboot the Godzilla brand, including the new Godzilla pic," Variety notes.

The success of Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla is said to be the inspiration for Toho's latest effort. That film, which Toho co-distributed with Warner Bros., earned $525 million worldwide and $26 million in Japan.

Meanwhile, Edwards is attached to direct a sequel to his own Godzilla pic, which bows on June 8, 2018. Warners and Legendary will again co-produce.

Frozen 2 in the Works Says Elsa Actress

Frozen 2 is officially in the works, according to Elsa actress (and original belter of 'Let it Go'), Idena Menzel.

In an interview with the UK's Telegraph, Menzel confirmed that the sequel and the stage musical are going ahead.

“...they’re all in the works,” said Menzel. But as for her involvement, the actress played it a little more cautiously.

“Ah, yeah sure… Not the stage show – I don’t know what will happen with that – but the movie hopefully. We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride."

Director Ridley Scott talks Prometheus 2

For a movie that's less than a year-and-a-half away, the progress on Prometheus 2 has been kept pretty hush-hush. That is, until now -- as director Ridley Scott has started teasing the Alien prequel/sequel, and promises a "fresh" monster for the film.

While promoting his upcoming film -- Exodus: Gods and Kings -- Scott spoke to The Australian (via Dark Horizons) about Prometheus 2, touting that it will introduce a "fresh" monster and is "getting away from gods and dragons and s--t. If I see one more dragon I’m going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons."Wait, dragons?! Scott is talking about the monster created by H.R. Giger for the original film, which he describes as the "definitive dragon," saying, "The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history."

Scott goes on to confirm that the Prometheus sequel will veer away from the inclusion of Xenomorphs -- the iconic, titular alien from the original series -- which were teased at the end of Prometheus. "With Prometheus 2 what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act," says Scott

And finally, Scott confirms that Blade Runner 2 is still in the works, saying, "It's written (and) it's really good." Good enough for us!

Prometheus 2 -- starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender -- is slated for a March 4, 2016 release.

IGN's Exclusive Interview with the Director of Jurassic World

Writer-director Colin Trevorrow is about to head to Hawaii to start work on his second feature film – namely the Jurassic Park sequel Jurassic World.

Before he commences principal photography however, the Safety Not Guaranteed director granted IGN an interview to discuss some of the rumours that have been swirling around the project, and to announce one unexpected but actually pretty logical piece of casting news...

IGN: Writing and directing a Jurassic Park movie is a pretty big step-up from Safety Not Guaranteed in terms of scope and scale. What’s been the biggest challenge thus far?

Colin Trevorrow: Getting the script right was the tough part. There are a hundred different ways to tell any story, finding the right one takes persistence. Jurassic Park movies don’t fit into a specific genre. They’re sci-fi adventures that also have to be funny, emotional and scary as hell. That takes a lot of construction, but it can’t feel designed. Ubisoft registers Avengers domain

Ubisoft may be developing a console version of the recently released Marvel film The Avengers, according to a domain name spotted by Fusible this week.

The site reported that the domain name "avengersbattleforearth.com" was registered on May 3, 2012 (a day before the film's release in the United States), through the brand-protection company MarkMonitor. According to Fusible, the domain name was registered by Marvel Characters Inc, but is currently listed on Ubisoft servers.

Speculation of a video game adaptation of Marvel's The Avengers began with the news last September that THQ's now-defunct studio, THQ Studio Australia, had been working on an unannounced game based on the Joss Whedon film.

Marvel later announced that it had taken back the rights to the game, based on its Avengers intellectual property, and would be "exploring potential publishing and licensing opportunities".

As far as video game outings go, the Avengers have previously been featured in 1996's Data East arcade fighter Avengers: Galactic Storm, as well as the 1991 arcade beat-'em-up Captain America and the Avengers, which received a number of console ports in the following years. Individually, the main characters of the Joss Whedon film--Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, and Iron Man--have all starred in their own feature films and accompanying game adaptations, in recent years.

However, the only current video game based on Whedon's The Avengers is Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. The downloadable content for the Xbox 360's Pinball FX 2 and the PS3's Marvel Pinball features a four pack of new pinball tables and a virtual machine based on the film. Need for Speed movie in the works

Electronic Arts is reportedly working on a pitch to turn its Need for Speed franchise into a Hollywood film.

A Variety report states that EA has hired writer John Gatins (Real Steel, Coach Carter) and producer George Gatins (She's Out of My League) to create a pitch for the film to show potential movie studios.
According to Variety, United Talent Agency (UTA) assembled the pitch for EA, which has already received interest from studios about it, including from Warner Bros, Sony, and Paramount. EA has been with UTA since 2008, when it first contracted the agency to expand its presence in the film and TV space. Since then, EA titles like The Sims and Mass Effect have reportedly been targeted for film adaptations.
The latest entry in the Need for Speed franchise, Need for Speed: The Run, was released in November last year. The series has been annualised since 2002, with a new entry rumored to be planned for later this year.

In 2009, EA announced that the franchise had sold more than 100 million units worldwide.

Spider-Man's New Viral... Thing

Easily the biggest story of the day was Sony's debut of the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. And of course, not even 24 hours after its release, someone spotted a hidden viral message pointing to another viral website viral thing... that's viral.

Collider was the first to notice this image:

The words "Mark of the Spider-Man," embedded in the graphic, directed them to MarkoftheSpider-Man.com, which brings up a plain, grey webpage featuring six static-filled boxes and the Spider-Man logo at the bottom. As far as we can tell, none of these boxes nor the logo are clickable. However, if you happen to have a keen spider-sense or, likewise, a mountain of time on your hands, this may be the answer to your mesmerizing boredom.

But if you just want to skip all that stuff, I would suggest you watch this trailer again instead:
