For a better look at this impressive creation, check out Titans' video tour, which shows off Luke's training, and the engine's LED lights in action.

Disney Talks About New Star Wars Attractions Based On New Movie

The Star Wars attractions at Disney's theme parks will be based on the new films, rather than the original or prequel trilogies.

Walt Disney Company chief Bob Iger outlined the theme park plans during a Variety Q&A. The attractions will be based on the new series of movies, along with planned spin-offs, so Disney Imagineers had to wait until they saw what J.J. Abrams had in store for the series.Iger says that early in development, they were making rides based on the first six Star Wars movies. Ultimately, though, they decided they didn't want to disappoint audiences who had just seen the films and expected to see it realized at the park.

BioWare considering free-to-play Old Republic

BioWare is examining the possibility of making its massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic a free-to-play title. Speaking to GamesTM, lead designer Emmanuel Lusinchi explained that the MMO space is constantly evolving, and BioWare must adapt to the changes.

Is The Old Republic heading to planet FTP?"The MMO market is very dynamic and we need to be dynamic as well," Lusinchi said. "Unless people are happy with what they have, they are constantly demanding updates, new modes, and situations. So we are looking at free-to-play, but I can't tell you in much detail. We have to be flexible and adapt to what is going on."

Lusinchi went on to note his belief that free-to-play games are elevating in quality, becoming genuine competition. This competition, he said, is driving BioWare to consider its options moving forward.
"If it was just free-to-play games and they weren't very good, it wouldn't even be a question, but there are definitely good games out there and good games coming out, so of course all of this competition impacts your plan with what you want to do," he said.

This is not the first time BioWare has said the MMO genre is a demanding business to be in. Last month, Lusinchi explained that "the MMO is the toughest part of the game industry without a doubt, and we live in tough economic times in general."

Is Star Wars: Battlefront 3 in Development?

Is developer Spark Unlimited making a Star Wars: Battlefront game? Some people seem to think so, but it's hard to say.

They are definitely making...something. The southern California developer is currently hiring multiple positions for two seperate games. One is "a 3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science fiction franchise," while the other is "a bold new take on 3rd Person Action/Horror" based on an established franchise. Sites like Playstation Lifestyle have combined these job listings with teases from the developers' Twitter, as well as a linkedin profiles from previous employees, and concluded that it could be Star Wars: Battlefront 3. The prior employees in question specifically site experience working on both a "shooter" and a "sword fighting game."

Could it be Star Wars: Battlefront 3? Sure. But at this point the details are so vague that it's pure speculation. Even if it is a Star Wars game, there's no reason it couldn't be continuing something like the Jedi Knight series, or even a Clone Wars game taking advantage of the popular animated series.

So to recap, here's what we know for sure. It's a game being developed in conjunction with a "major publishing partner," it's a third person action/adventure title being developed for PC, 360 and PS3, and, if the job description for the Multiplayer Engineer is any indication, it will have multiplayer and cooperative components.

Battlefront 3? Who knows, but it's sure fun to imagnie the possibilities.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - "Deception" Review

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.

There were a lot of fun elements to this episode, though I kind of feel like we saw a glimpse at a missed opportunity.

A prison where Cad Bane, Bossk and Boba Fett are among the inmates? That's awesome! I would have loved to have seen a villain-focused episode or storyline about these guys and what their prison life is like. Instead, it was used as background for another storyline, where only Cad Bane really played an important role. Very cool background, but still, I can't help but think how that could have been its own separate story - seeing more of how these prisoners interact and co-exist together. Though hey, at least we did see that Bossk actually does have Boba's back and is watching out for the kid.

Meanwhile, the whole idea of Obi-Wan going undercover among the scum and villainy of the Star Wars universe is compelling. And the fact that he faked his death to do so, with even Anakin and Ahsoka not

LucasArts And BioWare Weighing Price Structures For Star Wars: The Old Republic

BioWare's put together a great recipe for next week's Star Wars: The Old Republic, combining the general style of gameplay and social interconnectedness of a World of Warcraft-like MMORPG with the mass fan appeal of the Star Wars franchise. This deliciously gooey confection is then further sprinkled with the Canadian developer's trademark focus on narrative. Mash-up lovers among you, think of TOR as KOTOR meets WoW.

Bluffer's Guide to Star Wars Games

Everything you ever wanted to know about Star Wars games is in one handy video, presented by Danny O'Dwyer

Star Wars Galaxies Expires

Star Wars Galaxies is no more. After eight years, the Star Wars MMO has been permanently discontinued after losing the Star Wars license. The closure was announced back in June before officially taking effect last night.

Star Wars Galaxies first launched in 2003. It was given a major redesign in 2005 and received several updates throughout 2006. In 2008, LucasArts expected the game to be able to co-exist with Star Wars: The Old Republic, which will finally launch this month.

In a statement on the game's official site, Sony Online Entertainment said the following: "On behalf of the Star Wars Galaxies team, thank you. We have truly enjoyed getting to know you - our dedicated players - over the years. From in-game events to Fan Faires, we appreciate your continued loyalty and support. It would not have been possible without you."
